Painting is an expression of how I see and interpret the world around and within me. My pieces usually begin with a general concept or feeling in the form of an image in my head. Each image is conceptual and becomes clear as I get it onto the canvas. The journey from my imagination and into reality shifts and grows a piece into something beautiful and meaningful. I am inspired by the spiritual journey of faith and its power in daily life to bring healing and wholeness. I work experimentally in acrylic and gold leaf, incorporating a mixture of abstract and realistic imagery, often in bright hues.

My work usually begins with abstract applications of bold colors presented in drips, splatters, and liberated brush strokes. Using the background as a foundation, the piece uses and flows with the natural effects of gravity and water, growing into its surroundings to represent the overall theme of the piece. I am captivated by bold and bright contrast, as well as the use of a few key colors to convey a feeling or mood in a way that is punchy and meaningful. Experimenting with paint consistency, gravity, and gold leaf bring me a sense of joy and freedom as I watch an image in my head become real. My art style comes from a mixture of freedom from fear and stepping out of a tight, perfectionist comfort zone, and the themes of my work tend to follow that expression. As I grow in faith, observing the world through that lens, I sense and feel concepts that I wish to portray for others to interpret and experience.  ​

I'll walk you step-by-step through the painting of your choice. Each canvas is pre-traced with linework so you can relax and paint stress free. I book private paint events for all occasions.
